“The need for imagination, a sense of truth and a feeling of responsibility – these are the three forces which are the very nerve of education.”

Rudolf Steiner

The Melbourne Rudolf Steiner School offers an inspired modern education guided by the observations of the developing child made by the Austrian educationalist Rudolf Steiner.  These observations, together with the insights of generations of teachers who have developed curriculum worldwide for over 100 years, are offered in a contemporary Australian context, entirely relevant to today.

The School offers

  • an integrated Early Childhood Centre combining Kindergarten and Prep years
  • a Junior school program based on an artistic, imaginative exploration of the great world cultures
  • a Senior school offering an insight into subject disciplines in a warm and nurturing environment culminating in the Victorian VCE exams and offering pre-requisite subjects for entry to TAFE and University courses.

Our school curriculum is designed to provide a balanced and artistic education addressing head, heart and hand – the intellectual, social and practical aspects of the student who comes before us – seeking to aid him or her to find their particular expression in life.

This is experienced at a relaxed and beautiful campus of carefully considered architecture and grounds in an atmosphere of loving and respectful relationship with dedicated teachers and staff committed to developing a cultural centre for students, families and community.

Melbourne Rudolf Steiner School acknowledges the Wurundjeri Woi Wurrung people of the Kulin nation as the traditional custodians of the land on which our school stands and upon which we work, learn and play.  We offer our respect to elders past, present and emerging and honour them through our care of the land.

Ancestors have walked this country and we acknowledge their special and unique place in our nation’s historical, cultural and linguistic identity.
